Save The Internet - Act Now!!

Dear Friends,

I am blogging after long today (more than 4 years!!) as I feel there is a need of awareness within a tight deadline!

India’s all major Telecom Providers have come with a plan to change the way we use internet today. They wan’t to introduce concept of OTT (Over the top Services) which will not only make internet usage expensive but also unfair. Simple illustration of how it may impact us is say right now you just buy an internet pack and use anything like WhatsApp, Youtube, Facebook, Flipkart, Amazon etc. With this concept, that pack will just give you mere access to Internet. If you want to use WhatsApp, you will need another pack, for youtube they may ask you to but another pack and so on. Moreover your provider may have tie up with one company say Flipkart & give them higher bandwidth so if you try to buy something on Amazon, it will be almost impossible!

TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has given us chance to register our concern against this till 24th of April. You can register your concern very easily by logging to http://www.savetheinternet.in/ & clicking on ‘Send your Response’, it will give you option to email your response. You may even edit your response!

There is an educational video by AIB on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfY1NKrzqi0

Please take 2 mins out of your busy schedule and share your response as well as share it and make other aware to do so!

We do forward silly messages on WhatsApp like forward this to 2 group and see magic. Forwarding this may actually do magic and will also met you those silly stuff in future ;)

Comment if you did this or if you have a question!

Bidding farewell to a great decade of my life – 2001 to 2010

Here comes an end of an amazing decade of my life where I experienced many phases of life. This was the decade where I grew from a ‘school going teen’ to an ‘Undergraduate collegiate of DU’ to a ‘Post-graduate aspirant at BIMTECH’ and finally a ‘Professional working at TCS’. This decade is gonna be most memorable thing in my life as I did ‘fulltime aish’ at DU and enjoyed Hostel life during MBA and many more stuff. I spent best times of my life in company of amazing people around me.

One of the thing about this Decade which I am gonna miss life time is my Bachelorhood :(. I enjoyed being bachelor at its best during this period, especially during latter half of this decade be it last year of DU, hostel life of Bimtech, good times at B’lore or amazing time at Finland. I am gonna miss this in rest of my life. But I am sure that god has kept better things for me for coming decades of ma life.

I earned most precious and lifelong friends of my life during this decade. They all mean a lot to me and are priceless for me :) And needless to say that this was the decade where my parents and family felt proud of me at times :-).

One of the most amazing things about this decade in my life is that I traveled and live across different cities in India and also traveled to Helsinki and stayed here for so long. This was an amazing experience for me. I started this decade as a school student in Calcutta, then UG student in Delhi, then PG student at Gr. Noida, then a professional at B’lore, Chennai and finally here in Helsinki. I learnt most important lessons of my life during this decade from my family, friends and colleagues.

This was the decade which gave me more than I ever dreamt of in my life. I never thought that I will be stepping out of India and will be working somewhere abroad. I am thankful to God for all the hidden gifts which they gave me during this Decade :). God, please keep them coming :D.
The only thing I regret about this decade is losing my Dadi (grand ma) :(. I will always miss her and she will be always there in my heart!

Having said all of the amazing things which happened in my life during this decade, I will like to confess that there were lot of challenges and tough time during this period. I gave most scary exams in 12th standard. Broke my hand just a month before my CAT exams after preparing so hard.  Learning cooking in Finland and surviving on crappy self made food. Challenges in personal life, and many more. But all these made me better in life, for example I can cook well now!

I am thankful to God and my Parents foremost for such an amazing decade of my life. And am so much thankful to my family and ‘lovely friends’ without whom this decade would have been of no memory to me!!

I wish that god give all of us a new decade full of happiness & wellbeing and help us in creating more cherish able memories to be adored forever !!

How the world around me changed overnight !

Yesterday night when I slept, it was a dark and cold night. Thankfully I cooked dinner which made this packed apartment a little warm. I rolled me and my pillow inside a blanket and went off to dreamland. Suddenly my mobile rang, I realized it's my morning alarm. It was 6:45 a.m. I was not feeling like getting up so pulled back blanket again and slept. My mobile rang again and this was 2nd alarm which I had kept as I know i never get up in1st :). It was 7 a.m., I prayed god for a good day, started a playlist in my lappy and got up finally. I pulled curtains of my window and I was amazed. Yes it was snowing :D. I opened the window and hanged outside. Everything outside was white, I felt as if I am in heaven. Road were white, cars were white, roof of buildings were white, everything I can see was white. I started feeling cold. I shut my window and was excited to go office (not for work but rather going out in snow :P). I got ready asap. Packed my lunch, prayed god, took my camera and left for office. As I came out of building a snow drop touched me and i was thrilled. I was feeling as if I have traveled to a new place overnight, as this was not the Helsinki I saw last night. Everything around was so perfect. I realized how beautiful nature is. How can nature change the world around you over a night. As i was stepping in paths covered with snow, I was getting more excited. I was walking slowly and enjoying the environment. At this point i was missing my friends. I was wandering if I could play with them in snow :(. I realized i reached bus stop. I took the next bus which came for Pasila Station. I reached station and realized that due to my slow walking I missed my train but I was not sad and utilized the time in clicking some beautiful pics :). I was feeling that it was so good when we were kids, we don't have to think at all before playing in sand or mud. But today when I have grown up, I can't play with snow even though I want as I care what people around will think :(

Then came the train and I boarded it. Within few mins Kera Station came and I got down. I was already excited as I will again walk for next 10 mins in snow until i reach office. I enjoyed every moment of the walk. As office came, I was not feeling like getting inside but had no options. I entered office fully covered with snow. Opened my snowjacket, hanged it and went to my desk. Started my lappy, got some coffee and started looking outside window. This is the power of almighty, he can make everything around you heaven overnight !!

Warm welcome 2009 !!

2008 has not been a good year for many. Some have been victim of recession, some of terrorism etc etc. But for me 2008 has been best year in my life till now.

2008 has been a long journey for me. I visited Jammu in North to Kanyakumari in South. The journey started with visit to Champaran and Raipur in January. Then Jammu and Vaishno Devi in March. In April I went to Jaipur, Mathura & Jatipura. In May I went to Chandigarh and Kolkata. Then in June I joined TCS at Trivandrum. In July I explored many places in Kerala like Kanyakumari, Ponmudi etc etc. Finally I got my posting in Bangalore. Then in August I went to Chennai. October end I went back to Delhi for Diwali. I returned to Bangalore in November 1st week. In last week of November I went to Vellore. Then in December I visited Chennai for a marriage and then went back to Delhi, Mathura and Jatipura. Now, I am finally back to Bangalore. I am sure that I must have missed some places in this description.

Not only this, 2008 has been good year for me as I spent some of the most beautiful and rememberable days of my life in this year with my friends. I joined my first job, got my first salary.

As far as learnings and knowledge enhancement is concerned, I have never learnt so much in my lifetime. Thanks to my seniors and colleagues.

So for me 2008 has been a great year. Thank You 2008.
And I hope I will have similar thing to write at the end of 2009.

Happy New Year !!
